TSI Holding has been in existence since the mid-eighties, principally making venture capital investments. Several examples of these business and equity investments include real estate, advertising, athletic footwear, cable TV distribution, health care facilities, medical billing services, a stainless steel manufacturer of pressure vessels, and aircraft renovation of corporate jets. In the early 1990’s TSI Holding decided to look for businesses they could wholly own and operate. In 1994, Roman Company, designer and distributor of fashion jewelry, was the first such company purchased.
In 2003, TSI Holding bought Sunstone Imports / Jezlaine. In conjunction with Roman this created a jewelry business with combined sales in excess of $100 million. In early 2004, TSI Holding acquired Metalcraft Enterprises, to be operated as a subsidiary of Tubular Steel. This assisted the further leveraging of growth in fabrication services to augment the steel company’s growth. TSI Holding had been involved with Miami Air International in a capital venture position since 2000, and purchased the remaining stock in 2004. This acquisition added to TSI Holding yet another company with sales in excess of $100 million.
